Brick

Brick had two main functions on Harvard's campus: as roof-tiles, and as an architectural foundation. The bricks shed useful insight into where buildings were located in the yard.

Seventeenth-century red clay brick that was likely used in the original construction of the chimneys or cellar floor of the Old College (begun 1638, completed 1643).
